Bayan-Ulgii, Hovd, Uvs, Zavkhan, Gobi-Altai provinces are in West part of Mongolia. Total 16 ethnic groups are in this region. Their cultures and lifestyles are so interesting for tourists.

The backcountry of western Mongolia is still relatively unexplored and offers spectacular scenery and excellent opportunities for traveling. In this region some protected areas such as strictly protected areas of Uvs nuur, Tsagaan shuvuut mountain, Turgen mountain, Khukh Serkh mountain, Great Gobi, Otgontenger mountain, Natural conservation parks of Altai Tavan Bogd, Siilhem range, Tsambagarav mountain, Khar-Us lake, Khankhukhii Khyargas lake, Myangan Ugalzat mountain, Tarvagatai range, Natural Reserve of Alagkhairkhan mountain, Burkhanbuudai mountain, Sharga dune, Bulgan river, Devel island, Mankhan, natural memorial of Eejkhairkhan mountain.

By journey through this region, you will discover the unique culture of the Kazakhs, Mongolia's largest ethnic minority. Though their pastoral nomadic lifestyle is similar to that of Khalka Mongolian's, these Kazakh-speaking nomads are predominantly Muslim. Many Kazakhs still hunt with trained eagles in the winter months and you will have the opportunity to see these magnificent birds during your travels.
Altai sayan mountains are in this zone. It is one of 2000 ecoregions in the world that is described by World wildlife fund. Altai sayan ecoregion has fragile biodiversities, kinds of landshape, rare animals and plants in not only Mongolia.

Black ibex mountain /Khar yamaat mountain/, Cave of Nothern Blue /Khoid Tsenheriin agui/ and Otgontenger mountain registered in the Unesco 'World cultural heritage list' in 1996. Also the Uvs-Nuur-Basin is recognised as UNESCO biosphere reserve in 1997.

The snow-covered peaks of Mongolian Altai Mountain Range rise up to 4400m above sea level and you will find here remote alpine lakes teeming with fish, ancient stone monuments, intricate rock paintings and ancient Turkish burial grounds, swift rivers, larch forests, and valleys strewn with wildflowers. Furthermore many unique cultural, historical and natural sights such as throat song- khuumii, around 300 tombs and memorials in different ages of Chandmani mountain, Cave of Khoid Tsenkher- only one memorial of old stone age in Asia, Uureg lake which is rich of fish etc...
